Picasso and Maya: Father and Daughter

$200.00

Format: Hardcover

Measurements : 9.5 x 1.45 x 12.3 inches

Publisher : Gagosian / Rizzoli

Condition: New

A new exploration of Picasso’s work and family life, this book depicts a stunning chronology of the artist’s eldest daughter, Maya, highlighting the special relationship between father and child. Featuring two exhibitions for Gagosian curated by Picasso’s granddaughter, Diana Widmaier-Picasso, the book features gathered works from Maya Ruiz-Picasso, while the second half celebrates Picasso’s relationship with his daughter.

The publication explores the subject of Maya from Picasso’s perspective with abstract cubist portraits and never before seen black and white photographs of the father-daughter duo in the studio. A personal interview between Ruiz-Picasso and Widmaier-Picasso, also contributes to the intrigue of this volume.

New scholarly essays complete the publication, with contributions by distinguished Picasso scholars such as Elizabeth Cowling, Carmen Giménez, and Pepe Karmel.
