Jeff Koons: Gazing Ball

$100.00
sold out

Format: Hardcover

Measurements: 13.25 x 10.5 inches

Publisher: Gagosian

Condition: New

Having come to the spotlight of international art in the 1980s, Koons became the American artist of reference using themes from popular culture and everyday life including giant balloon animals made with stainless steel and a mirror-finish surface. This particular book presents his “Gazing Ball” series which began in 2013 where Koons created bold blue hand-blown glass balls contrasted against replicas of classic white marble sculptures. By 2015, Koons had expanded the project incorporating the eye-catching blue spheres into famous masterpieces such as Loenardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Edouard Manet’s Luncheon on the Grass. By combining the two mediums of art, Koons creates a complimentary contrast fusing together art from the past and present.
